How you can GET INVOLVED?
Every day, Family Promise connects people who want to help with opportunities to make a difference. Our donors and volunteers offer support and give of their time and talent in so many ways to help homeless and low-income families regain the dignity and independence they deserve.
Host congregations provide space in their buildings to serve as temporary homes. The congregations serve in this capacity on a rotating schedule, with each congregation serving for a week at a time about four times each year. During the week that the congregation is hosting, participating families are present from around 5:00pm until 7:30am the next morning.
During the day parents who are not working and children not yet in school have access to the Family Promise Day Center. Family Promise attempts to work with families to secure and maintain reliable transportation. At the Day Center, families can take showers, do laundry, care for toddlers, receive case management and look for housing and jobs.
